Montel Richardson is a visionary leader on purpose. Rev. Richardson is a graduate of Hopkinsville High School and the American Baptist College of Nashville, TN
On September 9, 2017 God saw fit to bring His purpose forward for this young man to receive the call to pastor the historic First Baptist Church of Campbellsville, KY.
Rev. Richardson’s instrumental presence has caused the number of youth to quadruple in size. The attendance has tripled and caused our finances to grow. Rev Richardson has created the H.O.P.E. Project, which exist to be a multi-service, non-profit organization that seeks to serve the community. The mission is to help out people everyday through education, empowerment, and enrichment practices. Camp H.O.P.E. was then birthed from the H.O.P.E. Project to provide more focus on our youth. He started the “Gathering,” which targets college age students and provides them the opportunity to come together and worship God. He also started a Men’s choir, which has been a blessing to the entire congregation. Because of Rev Richardson, we have a partnership with Feeding America. The partnership allows us to distribute food to those in need.
Only a few of Rev. Richardson’s accomplishments have been identified during his time at First Baptist Church. He has a laborious job with myriad responsibilities. He is always on call and willing to do whatever he can to help meet the needs of this great congregation and of this great community. He is loved by this church because he continuously shows love. In the Bible, 1 John 4:19 states, “We love God because he first loved us.”
